CollectIQ (“we”, “us”) provides research tools for collectors. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, what can become public, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account data: email, display name, avatar, and authentication identifiers you provide at sign up.
- Collection data: assets, transactions, cost basis, portfolios, binders, watchlists, alerts, and saved searches you create.
- Community data: public profile, posts, comments, reactions, follows, and achievements.
- Card show data: shows you save or attend, reminder preferences, want-board posts, and — for hosts and dealers — booth, table, and contact details you enter.
- Uploaded files: card photos and scans, CSV imports, and profile pictures.
- AI usage: the card context sent to generate an AI report or scan an image, and the report we return.
- Team accounts: members you invite, their role, and their activity within your workspace.
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, and error diagnostics needed to keep the service running.
- Billing data: handled by Stripe when paid plans go live. We store subscription status and customer identifiers only.
What is private and what can become public
- Private by default: your portfolios, transactions, cost basis, watchlists, alerts, imports, AI reports, and uploaded files.
- Public when you choose: community posts, comments, reactions, your public profile and username, achievements you display, and binders you publish.
- Shared links: a public binder or shared snapshot link is accessible to anyone who has the URL, and may be indexed if you share it publicly. You can revoke a link at any time, which immediately breaks it.
- Card shows: want-board posts are shown without your identity attached; host and vendor contact details are only released to the parties who need them.
How we use it
- To operate the product and your account.
- To compute valuations, scores, and analytics on assets you track.
- To send transactional and notification email (security alerts, password resets, alerts, digests, and show reminders you opt into).
- To generate AI reports and scan results when you request them.
- To detect and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your collection data to train third-party AI models.
Sharing
We share limited data with the subprocessors listed on our security page — hosting, database, email delivery, AI processing, and (once live) payments. Market-data providers receive card identifiers only, never your personal or portfolio data.
Retention, export, and deletion
- Account and collection data are kept while your account is active.
- You can export your portfolio and transaction data to CSV at any time from settings.
- You can delete your account from settings. This removes your personal data, private collection data, and uploaded files within 30 days, and revokes any public links.
- Public community posts may be anonymised rather than removed where others have replied; you can request full removal by email.
- Aggregated, de-identified market data derived from public sources is retained.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR/CCPA) you may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your data. Email privacy@collectiq.tools.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. See our security page for details.
